StarMed Specialist Centre (“StarMed”), a private ambulatory care service provider under the HMI Group, is deeply honoured to have our resident orthopaedic specialist Dr Lim Chin Tat taking on the esteemed position of Singapore Muaythai Federation (“SMF”) Medical Commission from year 2021 to 2023.
This collaboration is in line with StarMed’s mission to simplify healthcare delivery, by providing healthcare at the right time and place. With Dr Lim at the helm of SMF’s Medical Commission, SMF athletes can now enter the ring with the reassuring knowledge that there is a professional looking out for their medical needs and benefits while they focus on winning the fight. Dr Lim Chin Tat looks forward to serving the SMF athletes, helping them to maintain their best physical selves before and after every fight and delivering necessary medical expertise and care during matches. To ensure less traveling times and quicker recovery times for injured SMF athletes, Dr Lim will also be seeing patients in StarMed – a one-stop centre that is equipped with radiology services and operating theatre and focuses on delivering same-day discharge.
As an avid leisure football player himself, Dr Lim Chin Tat understands the balance an athlete must strike between pushing one’s body to its limit to achieve great sporting heights and maintaining one’s body and strength such that one could continue to enjoy and perform the sports for a longer period of time. As Dr Lim Chin Tat, resident orthopaedic specialist of StarMed, said: “I see myself as a medical professional who helps sportsmen achieve more in their profession with my orthopaedic expertise, both performance-wise and longevity-wise. This includes ensuring that I see my patients in a comfortable and safe environment with reduced risk of cross-infections such as StarMed Specialist Centre.”
