At our radiology centre, we prioritise our patients’ needs by offering same-day consultations and imaging tests all in one convenient location. Our state-of-the-art imaging machines are designed to keep radiation exposure to a minimum, ensuring accurate results in a safe and comfortable environment. The centre is headed by our in-house radiologist, Dr Howe Tse Chiang.
Gain access to your past X-Rays and scans done at StarMed from our radiology centre patient portal.
We provide a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional radiology services, equipped with a full suite of state-of-the-art imaging equipment.
A CT-scan combines X-rays from different angles in a computer to produce cross-sectional images of your body.
StarMed’s dual source CT (1st in Singapore) is designed to powerfully enhance diagnostic quality and provide more precision, flexibility and efficiency through faster scanning time with lower dose than other machines. By using dual energy, our CT machine provides quantification and evaluation of kidney stones, gout & bone edema.
Our CT procedures cover the following areas:
|Head (w & w/o Contrast)
|Chest (w & w/o Contrast)
|Abdomen (w & w/o Contrast)
|Pelvis (w & w/o Contrast)
|Angiography Cases (Chest, Cardiac, Abdomen, Pelvic and Lower Limb)
MRI uses a strong magnetic field and low frequency waves to image the human body. It provides high resolution images of the joints, bones, muscles and soft tissues.
Using a square pixel and voxel technique that makes the resolution finer, with increased image clarity, is what sets StarMed’s MRI scans apart from other scanners.
Our MRI procedures cover the following areas:
|Head & Neck
|Body Pelvic Cases (Male/ Female)
|Angiography Cases (Head & Neck, Aortic, Upper & Lower Extremities)
Also called “Sonography”, an ultrasound is a non-invasive technique used to view organs inside the body using high-frequency sound waves that are above the audible range. A small transducer with a small amount of water-based gel is used on the skin to obtain best images possible. The signals obtained from the body using the transducer is then transferred and converted to live images in a monitor, providing valuable information for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and conditions.
Our ultrasound procedures cover the following areas:
|General Cases – Abdomen, HBS, Renal, KUB, Others
|Small Parts – Breasts, Thyroid, Testes
|OB Gynae – Fetal Aging, Early pregnancy and Viability
|Vascular Cases – Varicose vein, DVT, Carotids, Aorta, Arterial, Renal Doppler
|MSK – Upper and Lower Extremities, Hernia, Superficial parts
|Elastography – Liver or Thyroid
Bone mineral densitometry (BMD), also known as dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) is an X-ray test to measure bone loss. It is used to diagnose for osteoporosis, a condition which causes a decrease in density of bones. Our BMD procedures covers the hip and lumbar spine.
Body composition analysis (BCA) is an X-ray test to measure fat mass, lean mass and percentage fat mass for the entire body, head, arms, trunks, pelvis and legs. Our BCA procedures can be done for the whole body.
Mammography is a test that uses low energy X-rays to examine the breast for diagnosis or screening. Mammography is used for the early detection of breast cancer, typically through detection of characteristic masses or micro-calcifications.
Digital radiography is an advance form of general radiography that uses a sensitive receptor to captures data during examination. This data is then converted and used to produce radiographic images in digital format which can be easily and instantly viewed on a computer within few seconds.
Our digital radiography (X-Ray) procedures cover the following areas:
