Cystoscopy is a procedure where a flexible tube is passed down the urethra to examine the bladder and the urethra. During the procedure, biopsies (samples) taken from the lining of the bladder will not cause major discomfort.
A Transrectal Ultrasound guided prostate biopsy (TRUS) is an investigation used to diagnose prostate cancer. A prostate biopsy uses transrectal ultrasound imaging to guide several small needles through the rectum wall into areas of the prostate where the doctor sees something unusual. Biopsy is then done to remove a tiny amount of tissue.
Uroflowmetry tests the amount of urine voided during urination. It also measures the speed of urination. It can help your doctor identify the causes of certain urinary difficulties. It is a common, non-invasive urinary test used to diagnose symptoms such as pain during urination or urinary incontinence.
Varicocles are just like varicose veins in the legs or hemorrhoids. They cause pooling of blood in the scrotum and a rise in testicular temperature. Even a one degree rise in testicular temperature can have an adverse effect on sperm production and testosterone function.
